Multiple electronic devices including smartphones, smartwatches, a portable speaker, and a large touchscreen tablet arranged on a gray stone surface.

Phones & Watches

  • Two smartphones, one black and one with a colorful abstract design on the screen, positioned vertically.

    The Pinwheel Phone

The Pinwheelis my top recommendation for parent-managed phones. It allows you all of the controls including the ability to monitor texts and fully turn off group chats. Its what I gave to my Middle Schooler.

    BUY
  • A Samsung Galaxy smartphone with a colorful display and three rear cameras, showing the Bark app with a dog silhouette.

    The Bark Phone

Bark Phones is also great. Its super locked down, and has step plans so you can start completely locked down and eventually open up to a smartphone. A key difference is that you get alerts when there is something concerning detected rather than the ability to see all of the texts. The Gabb Phone is similar and another great option.

    BUY
  • The Wisephone screen displaying a menu with options such as Cloud, Calendar, Camera, Music, Notes, Photos, Sounds, Phone, Messages, and Settings

    The Wisephone Phone

The Wisephone is a great choice for teens and grown ups who want a phone without distractions. It gives you the essentials— camera, maps and google wallet and that’s about it. Just note that it does not have parental controls. Use code DIGITALMOM for $25 off.

    BUY
  • Smartwatch with a square display showing the time 03:18, white strap, and three buttons on the side.

    The Pinwheel Watch

The Pinwheel Watch allows your kid to text with friends when you are ready for that but is still locked down from the internet and apps. If I could do it over, this is the Watch I would choose. Similar to Pinwheel watch you can see all of the messages

    BUY
  • The Bark Smartwatch displaying Facebook and Messenger notifications

    The Bark Watch

The Bark Watch is also a great option. Similar to Bark Phone it allows kids to text with friends with no internet access and parents get alerts. Gabb Watch is another similar option.

    BUY
  • Two Bot Devices, one with a blue frame and the other with a gray frame.

    The BoT

The BoT is a 2 way communicator with GPS. Its a great solution for younger kids, if you want a way to stay in touch but you don’t want to give a watch. I love that it doesn’t have a screen.

The super cute case is sold separately.

    BUY

Parental Control Apps & Tools

  • The Bright Canary Logo which is a Yellow cartoon bird with a small black eye and a simplified wing

    Bright Canary

Bright Canary is literally the only parental control app that can monitor messages both texts and on social media on Apple Devices. Its a must buy for Apple Families.

  • The Bark Logo which is the word 'bark' and a blue dog silhouette next to it

    The Bark App

The Bark App is great for time management and getting alerts about problematic content. Top solution for Android Devices

    BUY
  • Qustodio logo with a green square containing a white Q with a circular arrow.

    Qustodio App

Qustodio is also great for time management and getting alerts about problematic content for Android Devices.

    BUY
  • A hand holding a small, gray, square object with the word 'BRICK' embossed on it, against a black background.

    The Brick

My favorite time management tool. Great for Apple Devices because Apple Parental Time Controls don’t work. Great also for adults trying to self-manage. Its a physical key that you control from an app on your phone to turn off access to certain apps when you want to focus. Receive 10% off when you use the link below.

    BUY
  • A hand holding an Apple AirTag against a plain white background.

    Airtags

Apple products have the best GPS. These are great for keeping track of your kids as well as their backpacks and sports equipment.

    BUY
  • Wooden Tech Center with compartments for devices, made of bamboo.

    Tech Center

When it comes to home tech management my top tip is to designate a space in your home where all the tech gets checked in. This center allows you to see and charge all of the devices.

    BUY

Music / Audio

  • Person smiling and holding a small blue portable speaker called a Mighty towards the camera.

    The Mighty

The Mighty is a handy music solution. Its a portable standalone music player— think the Shuffle. Its a great solution for parents who want to give their kids access to specific playlists instead of unfettered access to streaming music which has very few parental controls.

    BUY
  • Young girl in white dress stacking colored books against a blue background

    Cali's Books

These are books with an audio component. They are great for little kids and reluctant readers!
